Collection includes deeds and other documents related to several adjacent lots of land on lower Broadway in Manhattan made during the period of Dutch rule. Includes (1) Deed for land grant to Jan Huygen, dated 1649, signed by Stuyvesant (29.7 x 39.6 cm, 1 p., with trace of red seal). (2) Deed for land grant to Frederick Jansen, for property next to that of Jan Huygen, 1651 Mar. 10, with endorsement after a new survey, dated 1659 Apr. 4 (25.5 x 40 cm., with paper seal, 1 p. with note on verso). (3) Deed of purchase from Jan Swaen by Hans Steyn of a lot bordered by that of the widow of Jan Huygen, 1655 Aug. 28 (32.5 x 20.8 cm, 2 p.). (4) Document transferring lot from Frederick Jansen's widow to Hans Steyn, 1656 June 23 (21.1 x 33.3 cm folded, 2 p. + docket). (5) Document of sale of lot by Hans Steyn to Lucas Dircksen Van der Burgh, 1656 June 30 and 1667 Feb. 13 (20.9 x 33 cm folded, 2 p. + docket). (6) Document of sale of lot from Jan Swaen to Luycas Dircksen Van der Burgh, 1657 Mar. 1 (29.6 x 19.9 cm folded, 2 p. + docket). (7) Document confirming sale of lot by Hans Steyn to Dircksen Van der Burgh, 1663 Nov. 15 (21.5 x 31.6 cm, 1 p. with note on verso; 2 sheets glued together. (8) Summary by Van der Burghs of extracts of previous deeds, 1725 Dec. 4 (20.8 x 32.7 cm, 2 p. + docket). (9) Naturalization paper of Lucas Dircksen, signed by Martin Cregier (20.8 x 33 cm unfolded, 1 p., with red wax seal). (10) Deed confirming grants of previous deeds made under the Dutch administration, giving new purchasers rights in the property under the English administration, 1667 Feb. 14 (32 x 40.5 cm, 1 p. + docket, with red wax seal).
